Ideal acupuncture  frequency when Preparing for a s sucessful Fertility Treatment
Female

  • For those reparing for medically assisted fertility treatments: Begin 30-90 days prior to any fertility cycle to increase egg quality, once weekly until stimulation begins, then twice weekly during stimulation and transfer.
  • For those in active fertility treatmenst such as IVF, IUI, FET, or Embryo Transfer to increase blood flow and provide an ideal enviroment for implantation, twice weekly until beta test
  • During Pregancy: Twice for the first 10 weeks, once monthly during pregnancy, one to three visits pre-delivery
Fertility outcomes are generally best when paired with an acupuncture protocol that spans several months before treatment. The treatments will continue once weekly preparing for pregnancy and twice weekly around an IVF or FET transfer date.
The sooner you can begin acupuncture treatment, the more opportunity there is to improve outcomes.  Research has shown that some treatment is better than no treatment, but acupuncture’s effectiveness increases with the number of acupuncture sessions prior to fertility treatment. Sperm and eggs both take approximately 90 days to develop.  As such, we recommend you begin acupuncture treatment 3 months prior to treatment.

Male
Acupuncture can help to improve sperm quality.  Since sperm take approximately 90 days to develop, we recommend that men begin weekly acupuncture treatment at least 3 months before trying to conceive.  Many men continue acupuncture treatment beyond their fertility protocol to manage stress throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
